West Coast Swing Basics @ We Make the City
Time & Location
About the Event
West Coast Swing Amsterdam invites you to join us and meet your community while dancing during We Make the City, "the festival that makes cities better"!
West Coast Swing x We Make the City
We Make the CIty invites everyone to make cities more liveable, sustainable, just, climate proof, accessible and safe. To us, part of that means being active and having positive interactions with your community—two things we know can be achieved through dance.
On Saturday, June 22, join us for this family-friendly, all-ages class introducing the basics of West Coast Swing dance! The 1-hour workshop is taught in both Dutch and English by Gordon (Netherlands) & Jennifer (Canada).
Location: Benedenzaal @ the Mirror Centre (Ter Gouwstraat 3)
Shoes: anything you are comfortable moving in (e.g. sneakers, boots, dance shoes)—high heels not recommended
What is West Coast Swing?
A partner dance with roots in Lindy Hop and originating from California, West Coast Swing (WCS) is taking over Europe with its musicality and versatility. Take a look at what West Coast Swing looks like: Watch this video!
Participation is FREE thanks to the Mirror Centre. Bring your family and friends, whether they're local or expats, for this session! After, there are refreshments up in the lounge and you can check out all the other events happening at the Mirror Centre that weekend.
Got questions? Feel free to post on the event wall or send us a message on Facebook. See you on the dance floor!
